“MCA has requested that I stay (with the team) until the end of the tournament. As a senior player, they will require me in the knockouts as well. As and when I will be required to play, I will play besides mentoring the youngsters.”
“It is the biggest decision of my life and there was a little bit of confusion in my mind whether to retire but then I thought that I shouldn’t leave my team in the middle of the season and also MCA, selectors and the coach requested me to stay back and I accepted it. I felt somewhere that I have been part of MCA for 17 years and three games won’t make a big difference. At this crucial stage of the tournament, I thought I should stay with the team and at the end of the season I will announce my retirement.”
