Dani Olmo started playing regularly for Dinamo Zagreb in the 2016/17 season. Olmo made a name for himself quickly, catching the eyes of some big teams in Europe with his skills. He spent three full seasons and half of the 2019/20 season at the club before leaving in the January transfer window of the 2019/20 season. Bundesliga side RB Leipzig was very impressed with his talent and completed the signing of Dani Olmo on 25th January 2020 on a four-year contract.

Despite already having a decent amount of first-team football under his belt, Olmo was just 22 years old when he joined RB Leipzig. Despite this, he put in some stellar performances for them, showcasing his talent while playing in the Bundesliga for the entire world to see. While he was phenomenal in Germany, what really made him stand out was the performances he put in for Spain at the 2024 Euros. It was after watching him lift the trophy with his country that Barcelona decided to bring him back to Camp Nou. Olmo ended up making 148 appearances for RB Leipzig in all competitions spanning five seasons before departing to join Barcelona.
