Cristiano Ronaldo makes move to Juventus

There were a lot of rumours and negotiations taking place regarding Cristiano Ronaldo’s transfer out of Real Madrid in the summer transfer window. However, the whispers and rumours can all be shushed now, as the deal is sealed – Ronaldo will move to Juventus for €120 Million.

Juventus was showing the maximum interest in the 33-year old, and they finally got him yesterday. He left Manchester United to join Real Madrid in 2009 and since then, he played 9 seasons and scored a record 451 goals for the club – the highest in the team’s history. The next best was Raul with 323 goals.

There was a lot of talk of him returning to United, but it is now official that he will move to Turin. The Portuguese star felt snubbed by Madrid, as they accepted a fee for his transfer when he was at the World Cup in Russia. The Madrid fans will be heartbroken on CR7’s move to the Serie A Champions, Juventus.

The €120 Million being paid for him is a record for the Italian club – the most they have ever spent on any player. Ronaldo wrote an open letter to his fans after completing the move to Juve yesterday, thanking his fans and followers in Spain for being wonderful over the last 9 years.

“I only have feelings of enormous gratitude for this club, for this hobby and for this city. I can only thank all of them for the love and affection I have received. However, I believe that the time has come to open a new stage in my life and that is why I have asked the club to accept transferring me. I feel that way and I ask everyone, and especially our followers, to please understand me,” was a part of his letter.
