The Cricket West Indies (CWI) could be forced to shift the venues for the last two matches against India. They are currently said to be looking for backup options for the last 4th and 5th T20Is from the ongoing five-match series which are scheduled to take place in the USA.
India and West Indies were set to play those games on 6th and 7th August at Central Broward Regional Park in Florida. However, according to various reports, the venue could change as some personnel from both teams have not received their US visas. Given the current circumstances, the CWI is said to be looking at alternative options to host both of those games.
Earlier, a source from CWI had shared that players from both the teams were expected to receive their documents, required to travel to the USA in St Kitts, where they arrived earlier to play two games However, it is now being reported that both teams will be forced to travel back to Trinidad to get their documents. India and West Indies will only be permitted to travel to the USA once all their documents are received and if they are cleared.
Cricbuzz has quoted a CWI source saying, “Having the games in the Caribbean is not unlikely but efforts are being made to resolve the visa issue.” Cricket West Indies president Ricky Skerritt is also quoted sharing, “There are options being explored while we continue to pursue the possibilities of receiving the outstanding visas.”

The uncertainty over getting all the necessary documents in time before the teams travel to the USA has seen Cricket West Indies look for options to play the last two matches. This is the second time India and West Indies are struck in such a situation as both teams faced the same issue in 2016 as the players’ US travel documents came in late.
Currently, the Men in Blue find themselves leading the 5-match T20I series by a 1-0 margin. The visitors recorded a massive 68 run win in the first match at Brian Lara Cricket Stadium in Trinidad and Tobago. While India will be eager to carry on the winning momentum, the hosts will aim to make a bounce back on the winning ways in the remaining 2 T20Is which are scheduled to be played in St Kitts.
