Christian Eriksen is a Danish professional footballer who plays for Premier League side Manchester United. The midfielder is known for his creativity and demeanour both on and off the pitch. Eriksen has faced death in the face, but even that was not enough to make him quit his passion, football. This article talks about Christian Eriksen’s net worth and how much he earns at Manchester United.
Christian Eriksen started his youth career at Danish football club Middelfart Boldklub. He joined the club when he was just three years old and spent a lot of time developing there. He stayed with the youth academy from 1995 to 2005 before deciding to join Odense Boldklub. He played for them from 2005 to 2008, and it was at Odense that Eriksen first began showing signs of his technical ability, with his dribbling and free-kick techniques lauded by then-coach Tonny Hermansen.
Eriksen performed wonderfully at Odense and caught the attention of one of the best developmental clubs in the world, Ajax. On 17th October 2008, Eriksen signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Amsterdam-based club, and it was here that he got the opportunity to play as a professional footballer and break into the senior squad. He worked his way through the youth teams at Ajax and was promoted to the first-team squad in January 2010.
The Danish star made his first team debut in a 1-1 draw against NAC Breda in the Eredivisie. He scored his first goal for Ajax on 25th March in a 6-0 win over Go Ahead Eagles in the Dutch Cup and extended his contract with the club the following month. The midfielder progressed wonderfully at Ajax, making 162 appearances and scoring 32 goals. His performances caught the attention of some of the biggest European clubs in the world.

Christian Eriksen stayed at the club till 2020, making 305 appearances in all competitions and scoring 69 goals for the club. On 28th January 2020, with his contract at Tottenham set to expire in six months, Eriksen signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with Serie A club Inter Milan. While he performed well at Inter Milan, his stay at the Italian club was cut short. After a small break from football, he joined Brentford in January 2022 till the end of the 2021/22 season.
He showed the world that he still had it in him and was a fantastic midfielder. On 15th July 2022, Manchester United announced they had reached an agreement to sign Eriksen on a three-year deal. Eriksen is still at Manchester United and has made a total of 75 appearances for them in all competitions. Christian Eriksen currently plays for Premier League side Manchester United. He signed a three-year deal with the club in July 2022, which will keep him at the club till the end of the 2024/25 season. The Danish midfielder earns £150,000/week to play for Manchester United. The Red Devils’ new signings Noussair Mazraoui, Andre Onana, Lisandro Martinez, Manuel Ugarte, Leny Yoro, and Joshua Zirkzee are all on lesser wages than the midfielder.
While some question if Eriksen is good enough to play for Manchester United and if he should retire soon, one thing that cannot be questioned is Danes’s passion for football. The incident which ended his stay with Inter Milan abruptly was a cardiac arrest. Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest while representing his country at the Euros 2020. The midfielder was apparently dead for a short period before he was brought back to life. He has to have a pacemaker installed in his heart after this incident.
The Italian Football Association’s (FA) rules prohibit a player from playing with a pacemaker, which is why Eriksen had to leave Inter Milan. After a short break, he returned to football and joined Brentford, playing in one of the biggest leagues in the world. Returning to football after such a serious incident shows how much he loves the beautiful game. The midfielder has accumulated a net worth of around£25 Million, which is more than enough for him to retire peacefully, but he still continues to play football.
