After being in a comfortable position to qualify for the World Test Championship (WTC) final, they suddenly find themselves in an extremely tough position, needing a miraculous result against Australia in the Border Gavaskar Test (BGT). The Indian cricket team are in need of a brilliant result in the Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) against the Australian cricket team. • 4-0/5-0: India qualifies regardless of other results
• 3-1/3-0/4-1: England must draw at least one test versus New Zealand
• 2-0: England must win one test versus New Zealand
• 3-2: England must win one test versus New Zealand and Sri Lanka must draw at least one test versus Australia
• 2-1/1-1/1-0: New Zealand can win maximum of one match versus England and Sri Lanka must draw at least one test versus Australia
• 2-2: New Zealand can win maximum one match versus England and Sri Lanka must win the series versus Australia

• 2-3: New Zealand can win maximum one match versus England, South Africa must lose two of their four matches, and Sri Lanka must lose two of their four matches
