However, he was recently linked with a move away from the club, and various Saudi Pro League sides were interested in trying to sign him. However, Bruno Fernandes has now confirmed that he will not be leaving the club and plans to stay with Manchester United. This article talks about Saudi Arabia’s attempt to sign the talented Portuguese star Bruno Fernandes.

Bruno Fernandes was linked with a huge move to Saudi Arabia, with the main team trying to sign him being Al-Hilal. The club offered Manchester United £100 Million for him and offered to make Bruno Fernandes one of the highest-paid players in the world, offering him a salary of £700,000 per week and a total package worth around £200 Million. Such a huge contract would surely be tempting for any player in the world, which is why many people online started speculating as to whether Bruno Fernandes and Manchester United would accept this highly lucrative deal, which would see the Portuguese star move to the Saudi Pro League to join the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.
Manchester United recently lost the 2024/25 UEFA Europa League final to Tottenham Hotspur, and Bruno Fernandes spoke about a possible departure from the club following this. He said that while he did not explicitly want to leave the club, if Manchester United wanted to sell him and cash in on him while they could, he would oblige and agree to part ways with Manchester United. It was due to these comments that everyone started to speculate as to whether Bruno Fernandes’ time at the club had come to an end and if he would agree to move to the Saudi Pro League. However, Bruno Fernandes squashed these rumours himself when he announced that he was staying.

Bruno Fernandes spoke about the move to Saudi Arabia in a press conference. He said:
“The president of Al Hilal called me a month ago to ask about the possibility of me moving there. I had to wait a while to think about the future. As I’ve always said, I would be willing to do it if United thought it was best to move on. I spoke with Ruben Amorim, who really tried to talk me out of it. I spoke to the club, who said they weren’t willing to sell me, only if I wanted to leave. From my side, it was a very ambitious proposal, the president was a fantastic person. I never talked about the money, it ended up coming up later, with my agent.”
30 years old being offered £700k-a-week Saudi deal, but he’s REJECTED it to stay at shite Man Utd who finished 15th and lost the Europa League final, and gentle reminder that he also rejected them last summer.

“I had to make the decision as a family and understand what I wanted for my future. That was the question my wife asked, what my professional goals would be. At no point did she say yes or no, she always supported me and put my professional side first. It was an easy move, even at a family level. I had Ruben Neves, Joao Cancelo. My children are used to playing with theirs. But I simply want to stay at the highest level, playing in the big competitions, because I still feel capable of that.”
While this was a very lucrative contract, Bruno Fernandes has ultimately made the decision to reject the move to Saudi Arabia and stay at Manchester United. It is fair to say that United fans have celebrated this decision as if they had made an incredible signing. Fernandes was simply phenomenal for the club in the previous season, and almost every Manchester United fan wanted the club captain to stay. Fernandes has obliged to this request and will continue to serve Man United in the near future. It will be interesting to see how the Portuguese star and the club fare next season and if they will manage to get their hands on some silverware.
