Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been in the limelight for all the wrong reasons after the experienced speedster failed to deliver for the Men in Blue in the last few outings. The 32-year-old has hit a rough patch with his performances in the death overs drawing a lot of criticism. His expensive overs have proved quite costly for Team India over the last few months.
The bowler registered figures of 1/40 during his spell against Pakistan in the Super 4 stages of the recently concluded Asia Cup 2022. Kumar also let go off 14 runs in the penultimate over against Sri Lanka in the 6-nation tournament which effectively knocked India out from the tournament.
He also failed to get going once again during the first T20I against Australia as he conceded 15 and 16 runs in his last two overs which totaled to 52 runs in his spell on Tuesday. Indian cricket team fans have also taken to social media and bashed the veteran speedster citing his poor outing against Australia. However, Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s wife, Nupur Nagar did not take it down and shared an update on her Instagram Story to defend her husband.
Nagar bashed all of her husband’s critics in her latest Instagram story and called the fans worthless for saying bad things about Bhuvi. Apart from Nupur, a few Indian cricket team fans has shown support and backed the bowler to do well in the upcoming matches.

Former Australia opener Matthew Hayden has also backed Bhuvneshwar Kumar to do well in the death overs. He is quoted saying, “I think he ( Bhuvneshwar Kumar) can and has been a very good finisher. I think that’s his role, I mean, obviously, his role is to take wickets up front but if your skipper wants an over or two from you at the end, then he can do that.”
