Indian speedster Bhuvneshwar Kumar has praised young upcoming pacer Arshdeep Singh. The senior bowler shared how he was left surprised by the maturity of the left-arm fast bowler while also praising the Punjab King bowlers’ death bowling ability.
Arshdeep Singh made a name for himself while playing for Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The left-arm pacer took up the responsibility of bowling the most difficult overs and proved his skills by bowling near perfect yorkers in the death overs. It saw the 23-year-old’s rise in the Indian cricket circuit with a national team call up.
The young speedster went on to make his debut against England in the shortest format of the game last month. He continued to impress everyone with his bowling performance. Later, the left-arm pacer dominated in the first T20I against West Indies recording bowling figures of 2/24 from four overs.
Citing such consistent performances, Singh is expected to be a part of the Indian team contingent that will travel to Australia for the highly anticipated ICC T20 World Cup. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has gone on to share what makes the 23-year-old a lethal weapon.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad bowler was quoted by India Today saying, “The best thing about him is that he (Arshdeep Singh) knows exactly what is required. What kind of field setting is needed, how to bowl to each batsman – very few newcomers display that kind of maturity.”

The 32-year-old went on to add, “Usually you learn these things as you play but he seems to have arrived with that kind of maturity. Even in the IPL in the last couple of years, he has performed consistently. He knows exactly what he wants to do, he thinks a lot about his game.”
Arshdeep Singh who, featured in the first game of their ongoing five match T20I series against West Indies is expected to retain his spot in the starting 11 for the second clash. He will be eager to build on a solid performance which saw the Men in Blue register a comfortable win earlier. While India will aim to pocket the T20I series after whitewashing the WI in the ODIs series, the hosts will aim to bounce back strongly and pocket a win during India’s tour to the Caribbean.
