She replaced fellow teammate Mooney at the top of the T20I list with her performances during the tri-series against Ireland and Pakistan. Lanning’s outing in the tri series saw her end up as the leading run scorer, recording 113 runs from two innings for the Kangaroos. She also had one of her best outings against Ireland managing to score 74 runs from just 49 deliveries in that game. Her quickfire innings helped Australia post a massive total of 182/4 leading them to pocket an easy victory.
Unlike Lanning, who stole the limelight with her performances against Ireland, Mooney managed just to score just nine in that same match. It proved to be a major factor in the tri series, which was heavily affected by rain as the Aussie captain gained 10 rating points and leapfrogged her teammate.
Amongst Australian stars, Tahlia McGrath also earned a massive jump in the latest ICC Women’s T20I batting Rankings. The 26-year-old moved up to the 13th place, gaining a massive jump of 15 positions after she recorded a half-century against Ireland.
Other massive movers on the batters table include the South African trio of Laura Wolvaardt, Anne Bosch and Tazmin Brits. The Proteas’ trio rose up the ladder despite losing out to the English Women’s team during their tour to England.

The England Women cricket team relied on veteran pacer Katherine Brunt by recording a whitewash series over the Proteas. She ended up taking 5 wickets and was adjudged the joint leading wicket-taker for the series. Brunt’s outstanding performances against South Africa saw her break into the top three following a four-spot rise with fellow English teammates Sophie Ecclestone and Sarah Glenn leading the charts.
Ecclestone, who also took 5 wickets like Brunt, maintained her position on the top of the T20I bowling rankings. She also managed to gain a jump by 4 positions in the all-rounders list and now finds herself ranked 16th following her heroics with the bat in the final match of the series. Amongst other bowlers, Australia spinner Jess Jonassen moved up by four while Ashleigh Gardner jumped up to three places in the all-rounder rankings.
