Alejandro Garnacho scored the best goal in 2024 and was awarded the 2024 Puskas award for it. He scored an absolute stunner against Everton on 26th November 2023. While this does not technically come in 2024, the period that is considered for the 2024 Puskas Award is a little different, which is why Garnacho’s effort has been included in this list. Diogo Dalot floated the ball into the box, and while it was behind Garnacho, the Argentine swivelled midair, turning around and hitting a bicycle kick right into the top corner to score one of the best goals of all time.
Michaell Chirinos scored an incredible goal for Honduras against Costa Rica on 23rd March 2024. Edwin Rodriguez picked up the ball near the right flank and whipped in an expansive cross across the pitch towards Jerry Bengtson. The striker knew he could not control it, so he pushed it back towards Michaell Chirinos. Chirinos decided to take it on the volley from outside the box, hit the ball perfectly, and saw it settle into the bottom right corner, giving his country the lead against Costa Rica.
This volley on repeat. 🤤

However, Antonis saw the keeper off his line and decided to unleash a shot from near the halfway line. The ball soared over the head of Lawrence Thomas and into the goal to make it 7-0 to Melbourne City.

The game between Trabzonspor and Konyaspor saw terrific drama towards the end of the match as Paul Onuachu scored a ridiculous winner in the 85th minute of the game. Enis Destan received the ball in Konyaspor’s box, and while he fumbled on the first attempt, he was able to blindly cross the ball into the middle of the box. This was when Onuachu’s reflexes kicked in, and he lifted his foot to connect with a backheel, sending the ball flying past Paul Bernardoni.
