India has announced two squads for their upcoming three-match T20I series against England. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will use the large pool of players available at their disposal with the T20 World Cup in mind.
The All-India Senior Selection Committee has announced the return of India’s all format captain Rohit Sharma. The 35-year-old, who is ruled out of the fifth Test due to COVID-19 will captain both the T20I squads and lead the Indian team in the ODI series as well.

One squad is all set to participate in the first T20I which will be played in Southampton on 7th July. The second squad will play in the two remaining T20Is which are scheduled to be played on 9th and 10th July in Birmingham. The first T20I squad will see Sharma lead most of the team members who featured for the Men in Blue in the recently concluded tour to Ireland. The likes of Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson, Venkatesh Iyer, Rahul Tripathi, and Arshdeep Singh alongside others will be in contention to start.
1st T20I Squad: Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rohit Sharma (c), Suryakumar Yadav, Rahul Tripathi, Deepak Hooda, Hardik Pandya, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Avesh Khan, Harshal Patel, Venkatesh Iyer, Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Ravi Bishnoi, Umran Malik

The squads for the second and the third T20I sees the return of India’s first-choice players to the T20I set up. Players like Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah have been added to the team for the remaining two T2oIs. Deepak Hooda has been given an extended run in the Indian team by being named in both the T20I squads.

After the T20I’s match, the Indian cricket team is all set to play three One Day International (ODI) matches against the Three Lions. The first ODI is scheduled to be played at the Oval on 12th July with the second ODI being played two days later at Lord’s. The third and final clash is scheduled for 17th July in Manchester .
