Rodrigo De Paul first came into the spotlight while representing the Italian side of Udinese. De Paul played for Racing Club and Valencia before playing for Udinese, the club he played for from 2016 to 2021. Atletico Madrid was really impressed by the central midfielder’s performances and decided to go after him in the 2021 summer transfer window. The Spanish club completed the transfer on 12th July 2021, signing a five-year contract with the La Liga side after they agreed to pay Udinese a transfer fee worth €35 Million. De Paul has since played for Atletico and has made 184 appearances for them in four seasons across all competitions, but he is now considering a move away from the club.

Alvaro Morata is a Spanish professional footballer who has played for some of the most prestigious clubs in the world, including Real Madrid, Juventus, Chelsea, Atletico Madrid, and AC Milan. His stint at Atletico Madrid came after his time at Chelsea when they decided to send him out on loan for the second half of the 2018/19 season. After a successful second loan in the 2019/20 season, Atletico decided to sign him permanently for €35 Million ahead of the 2020/21 season. Morata ended up playing for Atletico Madrid in four different seasons and made a total of 154 appearances for them across all competitions before moving to AC Milan ahead of the 2024/25 season.
Matheus Cunha is a Brazilian professional footballer who made a name for himself while playing for Bundesliga sides RB Leipzig and Hertha BSC. Cunha’s impressive performances in the Bundesliga caught the attention of several top clubs, but it was Atletico Madrid that decided to make the first move. They agreed to pay Hertha BSC a transfer fee worth around €35 Million to bring the Brazilian to La Liga. However, Cunha ended up playing for Atletico Madrid in just two seasons and made only 54 appearances for them across all competitions before moving to Wolverhampton Wanderers, first on loan and then on a permanent basis.

Vitolo played for multiple Spanish clubs throughout his career, with one of them being Atletico Madrid. The Spanish forward started his career with Las Palmas before moving to Sevilla in 2013. He played for Sevilla from 2013 to 2017, making a name for himself as an incredible forward. It was then that Atletico Madrid decided to make a move for him and agreed to pay Sevilla a total package worth €35 Million to bring the talented player to Madrid. He stayed at the club from 2017 to 2024, and while he was sent out on multiple loans, he ended up making 101 appearances for the club before announcing his retirement on 21st December 2024.

Radamel Falcao was a Colombian professional footballer who played as a striker throughout his career. He played for various clubs during his time in the club, including the likes of Porto, AS Monaco, Manchester United and Chelsea. However, a very important stint in his career came while representing Atletico Madrid. Falcao impressed the world during his time at Porto, and Atletico made the first move. They agreed to a transfer fee worth €40 Million to bring the striker to La Liga ahead of the 2011/12 season. Radamel Falcao ended up staying at the club for two seasons and scored a total of 70 goals for them in 91 appearances across all competitions before moving to AS Monaco.

Thomas Lemar is a French professional footballer who has played as both a midfielder and a winger during his career. His career started at Caen, and AS Monaco decided to sign him ahead of the 2015 season. He spent three seasons with Monaco before Atletico Madrid became interested in signing him and agreed to pay Monaco a huge fee worth €72 Million to sign the talented star, making him one of the most expensive players in Atletico Madrid’s history.
