Asian Games 2018 to begin today

The 18th edition of the Asian Games is set to kick-off in Indonesia on 19th August 2018. The Asian Games are scheduled from 18th Aug to 2nd Sept in the Indonesian cities of Jakarta and Palembang. While the opening ceremony will be held today at the GBK main stadium in Jakarta, the event will start from Tomorrow (19th Aug).

The sporting extravaganza will see around 10,000 athletes from 45 countries competing in 58 games. The 524-member Indian contingent comprises of 277 men and 247 women athletes, who will compete in 36 sports disciplines.

India finished 8th on the Medal tally in 2014 Asian Games with 57 medals, whereas 6th in 2010 with 65 medals in China. In the upcoming games, India have a lot of expectations from our wrestlers, Paddlers, Badminton players, Kabaddi Team, Hockey Team and many more who had a great outing in the recently concluded Commonwealth Games. Hope India could deliver a great show at Jakarta and Palembang.
