IPL 2023 Auction: Will Ankit Bawne Bag IPL Contract In IPL 2023?

IPL 2023 Auction: Ankit Bawne To Bag IPL Contract In IPL 2023

I wonder why Ankit Bawne has yet to debut for team India. Looking at his stats, one cannot deny that Bawne is a legend in the domestic circuit. Indeed one of the finest middle-order batters, Bawne, deserves a second chance in IPL 2023. Yes, you heard it right Bawne had represented Delhi Daredevils in IPL 2017, where the right-handed batter failed to excite the Daredevils franchise.

Ankit Bawne, in his domestic career, had scored 11,094 runs smashing 31 centuries and 53 half-centuries. Bawne has been a key player for Maharashtra for over a decade. Bawne had been in controversies due to child prodigies in the Indian domestic circuit. Looking at his current form, the veteran has polished his skills and transformed himself into a depending middle-order batter.

Having a good middle-order batsman is on every franchise checklist. Looking at his recent form in white ball cricket, it seems every franchise may bid on him. Bawne brings depth to your batting line-up, and someone this versatile should be noticed in IPL 2023 Auction

Which Franchise Would Suit Ankit Bawne

Franchises such as Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans were expected to bid for Bawne, as their middle order was a concern in the previous legs of IPL. Having someone like him in the squad would have been a good addition t their squads. However, no one bid for Ankit Bawne.

Ankit Bawne IPL 2024

Ankit Bawne did not participate in IPL 2024. The only season he was in an IPL team was in 2017 when he was bought by Delhi Daredevils. He played just one game in that season. He scored 12 runs in 12 balls including a four. To this date this game remains to be the only one Ankit Bawne has played in the Indian Premier League.
