10. 80 Against Mumbai Indians (12/05/2019)

Shane Watson put in one of his best-ever performances against the Mumbai Indians on 12th May 2019 in the IPL 2019 final. Mumbai Indians batted first but they only managed to score 149 runs in 20 overs with Kieron Pollard ending as their top scorer. It looked like CSK would be able to chase this score down easily. Shane Watson stepped up as the opener, but the rest of the team seemed to collapse around him. Watson ended up scoring 80 runs in 59 balls at a strike rate of 135.6 but ended up getting run out during a very crucial phase. CSK made 148 and lost the game by a narrow margin of one run.

9. 83 Against Kings XI Punjab (04/10/2020)

The game between Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings, which took place on 4th October 2020, saw Watson put in a brilliant shift. Kings XI Punjab batted first, and good performances by the players helped Punjab set a total of 178 on the board. While this was a decent total, CSK openers Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis ended up making light work of this. Watson scored 83 runs in 53 balls at a strike rate of 156.6 to help the Chennai Super Kings chase the total down in just 17.4 overs and win the game by 10 wickets.

8. 89 Against Mumbai Indians (20/05/2011)

Shane Watson made one of his highest IPL scores against the Mumbai Indians on 20th May 2011. Mumbai Indians batted first, and while Rohit Sharma put in a respectable performance by scoring 58 runs, Mumbai Indians only managed to set a small target of 134 for the Rajasthan Royals to try and chase down. Shane Watson and Rahul Dravid opened for the Royals and ended up chasing the score without losing a single wicket. Watson scored 89 runs in 47 balls at a strike rate of 189.4 to help Rajasthan Royals complete the run chase in just 13.1 overs.

7. 90 Against Pune Warriors India (08/05/2012)

Another brilliant performance was put in by Shane Watson in the game between Rajasthan Royals and Pune Warriors India on 8th May 2012. Pune Warriors India batted first, and while Rajasthan Royals were unable to bowl them out, they managed to restrict them to a score of just 125 runs. Rajasthan Royals lost Ajinkya Rahane’s wicket for a duck, but Shane Watson stepped in at number three and scored 90 runs in 51 balls at a strike rate of 176.5 without losing his wicket to help Rajasthan Royals win the game comfortably.

6. 96 Against Sunrisers Hyderabad (23/04/2019)

Shane Watson’s performance on 23rd April 2019 helped the Chennai Super Kings win an absolute thriller against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. SRH batted first, and good performances by David Warner (57 runs in 45 balls) and Manish Pandey (83 runs in 49 balls) saw SRH set a target of 176 for the Chennai Super Kings to try and chase down. Shane Watson opened the batting, and while Faf du Plessis lost his wicket cheaply, Watson managed to score 96 runs in 53 balls at a strike rate of 181.1 to help CSK win the game on the second last ball of the match.

5. 98 Against Sunrisers Hyderabad (27/04/2013)

Shane Watson played another fabulous inning on 27th April 2013 in a game between the Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals. SRH batted first, and somehow, the first six batsmen all managed to lose their wickets very cheaply. It was the lower end players who managed to score the runs, especially Darren Sammy who scored 60 runs. This helped SRH put up a respectable score of 144 on the board. While Rahane lost his wicket after scoring just one run, Shane Watson ended up stepping in and scoring 98 runs in 53 balls at a strike rate of 184.9, which helped RR chase the total down very easily.

4. 101 Against Chennai Super Kings (22/04/2013)

Shane Watson’s first century in the Indian Premier League came against the Chennai Super Kings on 22nd April 2019. Rajasthan Royals batted first, and while others around him struggled, Shane Watson ended up scoring 101 runs in 61 balls at a strike rate of 165.6 to help the Rajasthan Royals set a target of 186 for the Chennai Super Kings to try and chase down. However, this was all in vain as performances by Michael Hussey and Suresh Raina saw CSK chase the score down in the second last ball of the match and beat Rajasthan Royals.

3. 104 Against Kolkata Knight Riders (16/05/2015)

Shane Watson’s second century in the Indian Premier League came on 16th May 2015 in a game between the Rajasthan Royals and the Kolkata Knight Riders. Rajasthan Royals batted first, and Shane Watson put in a brilliant performance, scoring 104 runs in 59 balls at a strike rate of 176.3 without losing his wicket to help the Rajasthan Royals set a huge target of 200 for the KKR to try and chase down. While Kolkata Knight Riders tried their best to try and chase this score down, they could only make 190 runs in 20 overs and ended up losing by nine runs.

2. 106 Against Rajasthan Royals (20/04/2018)

One of the highest scores in Shane Watson’s IPL career came in the game between the Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals on 20th April 2018. Chennai Super Kings batted first, and while Suresh Raina and Dwayne Bravo contributed, Shane Watson was the standout performer. He scored 106 runs in 57 balls at a strike rate of 186 to help CSK put up a total of 204 on the board. Rajasthan Royals crumbled under the pressure of chasing such a huge target, and CSK managed to bowl them out for just 140 runs, winning the game by a huge margin of 64 runs.
