Cesar Azpilicueta became an important player for Marseille, but he struggled with injuries in the first season. He ended up playing for them for just two full seasons before English Premier League side Chelsea decided to make a move to sign the player. He ended up making 68 appearances for them across all competitions, winning the 2011 Coupe de la Ligue and 2010 and 2011 Trophee des Champions titles while representing them.
