MI Cape Town and Paarl Royals (PR) managed to finish as the 1st and 2nd placed teams in the SA20 2025. MI Cape Town played against the Paarl Royals in the SA20 qualifier 1 on 4th February 2025. MICT batted first and managed to make 199 runs in 20 overs thanks to performances by Ryan Rickelton (44 runs in 27 balls), Rassie van der Dussen (40 runs in 32 balls), Dewald Brevis (44 runs in 30 balls), George Linde (26 runs in 14 balls), and Delano Potgieter (32 runs in 17 balls). PR tried hard to chase this down but were bowled out for just 160, and the MICT ended up winning the game by a margin of 39 runs.

The Sunrisers Eastern Cape defeated the Joburg Super Kings when they faced each other in the SA20 eliminator on 5th February 2025. The Sunrisers Eastern Cape batted first, and while others contributed, their standout performer was their captain, Aiden Markram, who scored 62 runs in 40 balls at a strike rate of 155 to help SEC set a target of 185 for the JSK to try and chase. The Joburg Super Kings fought valiantly, and performances by Devon Conway (30 runs in 20 balls) and Jonny Bairstow (37 runs in 17 balls) saw them come close, but the Sunrisers Eastern Cape managed to restrict JSK to 152 runs and ended up winning the game by 32 runs.

The game between the Paarl Royals and the Sunrisers Eastern Cape, which took place in the SA20 on 6th February 2025, was a very close one. The PR batted first, and incredible performances by Lhuan-dre Pretorius (59 runs in 41 balls), Rubin Hermann (81 runs in 53 balls), and Andile Phehlukwayo (22 runs in 11 balls) saw them set a target of 176 for the Sunrisers Eastern Cape to try and chase down. Brilliant innings by Tony de Zorzi (78 runs in 49 balls) and Jordan Hermann (69 runs in 48 balls) saw the SEC chase the score down in just 19.2 overs. They won the game by eight wickets and qualified for the SA20 2025 final.

MI Cape Town faced the Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the SA20 final on 8th February 2025. MICT batted first, and an all-round performance by Rassie van der Dussen, Ryan Rickelton, Connor Esterhuizen, George Linde, Dewald Brevis, and Delano Potgieter saw the Mumbai Indians Cape Town reach a total of 181 in 20 overs. While it felt the Sunrisers Eastern Cape might be able to chase this down, MICT did not give them a chance. Thanks to brilliant bowling by Kagiso Rabada (four wickets), Trent Boult (two wickets), and George Linde (two wickets), MICT bowled SEC out for 105 runs and won the SA20 2025 final by a huge margin of 76 runs.
