9. Francesco Graziani – 23 Goals

Francesco Graziani represented the Italian football team from 1975 to 1983. The forward is one of the highest goal scorers in Italy’s history and has scored 23 goals for his country in 64 appearances, which puts his goals-per-game ratio at 0.36. He also won the 1982 FIFA World Cup with his national team. Graziani played for a variety of prestigious Italian clubs throughout his career, including Torino, Fiorentina, Roma, and Udinese.

9. Christian Vieri – 23 Goals

Christian Vieri is an Italian centre-forward who has played for many big clubs throughout his career. He has played for Atalanta, Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Lazio, Inter Milan, AC Milan, AS Monaco, and Fiorentina, amongst others. Vieri represented his national side from 1997 to 2005 and ended his international career as one of the top goal-scorers in Italy’s history. He scored 23 goals for the Italian football team in 49 appearances at a goals-per-game ratio of 0.47.

6. Alessandro Altobelli – 25 Goals

Alessandro Altobelli is regarded as one of the best forwards in the Italian football team’s history. Altobelli scored 25 goals for his national team in 61 appearances and ended his international career with a goals-per-game ratio of 0.41. He also won the 1982 FIFA World Cup with Italy. Altobelli played for various teams in his club career but spent nearly the entirety of his career playing for Inter Milan. He made 466 appearances for them in all competitions, scoring 209 goals in the process while helping them win the 1979/80 Serie A title.

6. Filippo Inzaghi – 25 Goals

Filippo Inzaghi was widely known as one of the best strikers of his generation and possessed unbelievable finishing ability. Inzaghi represented Italy from 1997 to 2007 and ended his international career, having scored 25 goals in 57 appearances at a goals-per-game ratio of 0.44 and having won the 2006 FIFA World Cup trophy. While Inzaghi played for many teams in his club career, his standout performances came while playing for Juventus and AC Milan.

6. Adolfo Baloncieri – 25 Goals

Adolfo Baloncieri is the oldest player on this list and played for his national side from 1920 to 1930. Baloncieri played as an attacking midfielder throughout his career and scored 25 goals for his country in 47 appearances at a goals-per-game ratio of 0.53. The majority of Adolfo Baloncieri’s club career was split between two clubs, US Alessandria and Torino. The Italian star won the 1927-30 Central European International Cup with his country, as well as a bronze medal in the 1928 Summer Olympics.

4. Alessandro Del Piero – 27 Goals

4. Roberto Baggio – 27 Goals

Roberto Baggio is widely regarded as the best player in Italian football’s history. He spent his club career representing various Italian clubs, including Fiorentina, Juventus, AC Milan, Bologna, and Inter Milan. Baggio represented his country from 1988 to 2004 and ended his international career, having made 56 appearances and scored 27 goals for his national side at a goals-per-game ratio of 0.48.

3. Silvio Piola – 30 Goals

Silvio Piola played for various clubs like Pro Vercelli, Lazio, Torino, Juventus, and Novara in his career, spending a decent amount of time at each of these clubs. The Italian striker played for the Italian men’s football team from 1935 to 1952 and managed to win the 1938 FIFA World Cup as well as the 1933-35 Central European International Cup with them. Piola made a total of 34 appearances for Italy and scored 30 goals in that time at an impressive goals-per-game ratio of 0.88, the highest of anyone on this list.

2. Giuseppe Meazza – 33 Goals

Giuseppe Meazza is another great Italian legend who represented his country from 1930 to 1939. He has an incredible resume and helped Italy win consecutive FIFA World Cup trophies in 1934 and 1938. He also won the 1927-30 and 1933-35 Central European International Cups with the Italian football team. Meazza scored 33 goals for his country in 53 appearances at a goals-per-game ratio of 0.62. Meazza played for many prestigious Italian teams, including Inter Milan, AC Milan, Juventus, and Atalanta.
