Marcus Rashford Finds Form Under Ruben Amorim

Marcus Rashford is an English professional footballer who currently plays for the English Premier League side Manchester United. The talented star has had his fair share of ups and downs in his career, with him going in and out of being on a red-hot streak in some seasons while looking completely out of it in others. While the 2024/25 season looked like another one where Rashford would struggle, the sacking of Erik Ten Hag and the appointment of Ruben Amorim seems to have turned it around for Rashford. It has been just three games since Portuguese manager Ruben Amorim took over as Manchester United manager, but many players in the team, including Marcus Rashford, seem to be thriving under the new coach. Amorim’s tactics seem to be suiting the Manchester United players brilliantly, and while people speculated whether the fast-paced tactics would suit United players and if they would be able to adjust to the new system, it all seems to be falling into place perfectly, and the Red Devils finally seem to be playing good and appeasing football.

Marcus Rashford seems to have benefited the most under Ruben Amorim. The English star has been playing a more central role as compared to being completely on the wing under Erik Ten Hag. Rashford has started both the Premier League games under Amorim, against Ipswich Town and Everton. He scored within two minutes against Ipswich Town in Ruben Amorim’s first Premier League game and continued this form against Everton, where he managed to score a brace and helped Manchester United cruise to a comfortable 4-0 victory.

Ruben Amorim spoke about Marcus Rashford’s ability as a striker and what he expects from the player going forward. He said:

“We’ll try to find the right solution for him but he has to be Marcus, first of all, to try to return to that moment. He has to be the first one to want it. He can do so much, so he has to continue to improve, he has the ability to do it, he already proved that. But he can play so much better, as can the other guys.”

Marcus Rashford seems to be up to the task and welcomes this challenge. He hopes that this will only motivate him to improve his game even further. He said:

“[Amorim] is definitely demanding but gives encouragement to bring your strengths into the game. That is when you get a really good team performance. Hopefully, we can build on this and keep pushing. We have to keep pushing every day to meet his demands.”

Marcus Rashford had arguably his best season in 2022/23. The striker displayed incredible form, taking on players with the utmost confidence, getting past them with ease, and putting the ball in the back of the net. The striker seemed untouchable during this phase, but sadly, like other times, the English star was unable to keep playing at that level consistently and soon hit a rough patch, which he is still looking to recover from.

Manchester United fans hope that Ruben Amorim will turn out to be the key to unlocking Marcus Rashford’s true potential, and early glimpses of his performances show promising signs. The striker seems to have regained his confidence, and if he can keep up the consistency, he can easily turn into one of the most devastating players in the Premier League. Marcus Rashford will be motivated to show his determination and spirit to the new coach and is working towards becoming a forward Manchester United can rely on week in and week out.
