Joao Felix is a Portuguese professional footballer who currently plays for Premier League side Chelsea. The forward has been a well-known player for quite a while now but is still just 24 years old. This goes to show just how young Felix was when he was first labelled as a rising star. While the Portuguese has not yet fully lived up to his expectations and has a long way to go to reach his full potential, he is still young and has loads of time to develop. This article talks about Joao Felix’s net worth and salary.
Joao Felix started his youth career at a club called Os Pestinhas. He played for them from 2007 to 2008 before transferring to FC Porto. Felix spent the majority of his youth career developing at FC Porto’s academy. He stayed with the club from 2008 to 2015, which also included a loan to Portuguese club Padroense in the final year of his stay with Porto. In 2015, Felix decided to move to Benfica’s youth academy, and this is where he made his breakthrough.
Félix debuted professionally at age 16 for Benfica’s reserve team in LigaPro on 17th September 2016. He came on as a substitute in the 83rd minute for Aurelio Buta in a goalless draw at Freamunde. Felix was promoted to Benfica’s first team for the 2018/19 season, making his debut in a 2-0 Primeira Liga win at Boavista on 18th August. A week later, he scored his first senior goal and became the youngest player to score in the Lisbon derby.

Joao Felix continued impressing while at Benfica and caught the attention of some of the biggest European clubs in the world. It was Atletico Madrid who decided to make a move for him. To ward off interest from other clubs, the Spanish club agreed to pay a humungous transfer fee of £113 Million for the youngster. This made Felix one of the most expensive players in the world despite his career only having started very recently.

The Portuguese star’s career at Atletico Madrid started very brightly. The forward kept developing at the club and was regarded worldwide as one of the best talents in the future. He stayed at the club from 2019 to 2023, which included a short loan to the Premier League side Chelsea. Felix made a total of 131 appearances in all competitions and scored 34 goals. While his tenure at the club was good, problems started creeping up towards the end of his stay.
Joao Felix had a fallout with the manager, and this resulted In him deciding to leave the club. The Portuguese star joined Chelsea on loan in 2024 and Barcelona on loan in the 2023/24 season. He had successful stints at both clubs and decided to leave Atletico Madrid for good and join Chelsea ahead of the 2024/25 season. Chelsea offered him a very lucrative deal to join them permanently. It is these contracts that have helped him accumulate a net worth of nearly £20 Million over the years.

While Joao Felix has arguably not reached his full potential yet, the forward is still just 24 years old. He has a long career ahead of him and hopes to develop further and discover his true self at Chelsea. If he can increase his performances at Chelsea, the Blues will have an amazing talent on their hands, and it will be one that has been tied down for the longest time. If he can keep performing at a high level, he will get better contracts and brand deals, which will help boost his net worth even further in the future.
