Deepti Sharma is an Indian cricketer who was born on 24th August 1997 in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. Her cricketing journey began at a young age. She was introduced to the sport by her brother, Sumit Sharma, who initially coached her. Her talent for the sport was evident right from the off, and she quickly rose through the ranks to become one of the best cricketers in the world. This article talks about Deepti Sharma’s career and her net worth.
Deepit Sharma made her international debut in One Day Internationals (ODI) on 28th November 2014 against South Africa. She was only 17 years old when she did so. Her Twenty20 International (T20I) debut came on 31st January 2016 against Australia, and her test debut came on 16th June 2021 against England. Deepti Sharma is currently the number four ranked bowler in ODIs and the number three ranked bowler in T20Is.
While she is an exceptional bowler, she possesses a lot of skill when it comes to batting as well. In fact, she is also in the top five allrounders in the world, ranking 5th as an ODI allrounder and third as a T20 allrounder in the ICC women’s player rankings list. Apart from international cricket, Deepti Sharma has also played for many domestic teams in her career. She has represented IPL Trailblazers, Western Storm, London Spirit, Sydney Thunders, IPL Velocity, Birmingham Phoenix and UP Warriorz in her career.

One of her biggest achievements came in 2017 when she scored 188 runs against Ireland in an ODI, setting the record for the highest individual score by an Indian woman in ODIs at the time. This is one of the many occasions in which Deepti Sharma has displayed her batting prowess, cementing her status as an allrounder rather than a bowler or batsman. She still has a long career ahead of her and will only keep on improving as more time passes. It will be interesting to see exactly what she can achieve by the time she decides to retire from the sport.

Her national contract with BCCI to represent India, as well as the many domestic contracts she has received in her career so far, has helped her accumulate a net worth of approximately ₹8 Crore. Alongside her contracts, various brand deals and endorsements have probably acted as an alternate source of revenue for Sharma and helped her build this net worth. The Indian star is just 26 years old, and her net worth will surely only keep rising as she gets even better and receives contracts with a higher salary.

The Women’s Premier League (WPL) is a women’s Twenty20 cricket franchise league in India, owned and operated by the BCCI. This is a direct parallel to the Indian Premier League (IPL), which is one of the biggest leagues in the world. The WPL started in 2023 to provide Indian women cricketers with the same chances and experience as the men cricketers. It has already become a success despite just two seasons having been completed. As of now, just five teams participate in this tournament, namely Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, and UP Warriorz.
Deepti Sharma was bought by UP Warriorz in the 2023 WPL auction for a whopping ₹2.6 Crore. This made her the fourth most expensive pick in WPL history, with the only players selling for more being Smriti Mandhana (₹3.4 Crore), Ashleigh Gardner (₹3.2 Crore), and Natalie Sciver (₹3.2 Crore). The Indian star was retained by UP Warriorz ahead of the WPL 2024 auction, which means she earns the same amount as she did when she was bought for ₹2.6 Crore in the WPL 2023 auction. This is a huge amount of money and will surely go a long way towards boosting her net worth even further.
