The team changed its name before the 2018 Tamil Nadu Premier League to VB Kanchi Veerans. Sanjay Yadav represented the Kanchi Veerans for two years in the 2018 and 2019 Tamil Nadu Premier League seasons. The tournament did not take place in 2020 due to Covid-19, and when it returned in 2021, the team changed its name once again, this time to Nellai Royal Kings.

The all-rounder played for Nellai Royal Kings for two years, representing them in the 2021 and 2022 editions of the Tamil Nadu Premier League. Sanjay Yadav joined the general auction when the player auction replaced the draft. He was the second most expensive pick, and Chepauk Super Gillies ended up shelling ₹17.60 Lakh to acquire his services. However, Yadav left Chepauk Super Gillies after just one season with them.
