Trent Boult Returns to New Zealand ODI Squad for England Tour After 12-Month Absence: Trent Boult, the seamer, has been selected for the New Zealand ODI squad that will take on England in September before the World Cup. This will mark his return to international cricket after a 12-month hiatus. The 34-year-old has been included in the 15-man squad to face England, having been excluded by the Black Caps last year when he declined a central contract in favor of playing in the Big Bash League in Australia.
Boult has rejoined the squad and is expected to participate in the ODI World Cup taking place in India this October, as he has inked a “casual playing agreement” with New Zealand Cricket earlier this year.
The ODI unit of New Zealand is thrilled to have Trent back as he starts his World Cup preparations, according to head coach Gary Stead.

Boult is widely recognized as one of the top ODI bowlers around, having claimed a remarkable 187 wickets at that level in addition to 74 more for his national team in Twenty20 cricket. Additionally, Kyle Jamieson, who has an impressive record of 72 wickets in 16 Tests, makes a comeback to the New Zealand white ball squad following a period of absence due to a back injury.
As part of his recovery process, Kane Williamson, who suffered a knee ligament rupture in April, will be joining the New Zealand squad in England for training and will train Trent Boult in person with all essential tips and tricks.
Between 8th September and 15th September, England and New Zealand will face off in a series of four ODI internationals. Apart from this, at the end of September, Bangladesh will host New Zealand for a three-match ODI series.
