PSL Champions Since 2016, Who Will Win In 2023

Pakistan Super League (PSL) is a franchise-based Twenty20 cricket tournament which can be considered a good league tournament. The first two editions of the PSL had only five teams. PSL announced the inclusion of the sixth team in the 2018 season, and then Multan Sultan was added.

The format of the PSL is simple. Every team will play the group stage matches in a double round-robin format, the top four teams with maximum points will qualify for the playoffs. The top two teams in the points chart will get two chances to reach the finals, and the other two teams will face each other in the elimination round.

We’ve listed down teams that won PSL most times

Islamabad United

 

Islamabad United has won the title twice in PSL’s history. Leggie Shadab Khan currently leads United. Islamabad United has won 41 and lost 35 games with one tie in their 77 matches. United won the titles in 2016 and 2018.

Peshawar Zalmi

Peshawar Zalmi has won the title only once. The Peshawar Zalmi’s were the champions in 2017 and three-time runners-up in 2018, 2019, and 2021.

Quetta Gladiators

Quetta Gladiators also managed to win the title once. Gladiators have won 36 games and lost 35 with one no result. Gladiators were the champions in 2019 and two-time runners-up in 2016 and 2017.

Multan Sultan

Multan Sultan is one of the late entrants in PSL and is currently led by Mohammed Rizwan. Multan were champions in the 2021 edition and were runner-ups in the 2022 season.

Lahore Qalandars

Lahore Qalandars won 30 games and lost 39 with three ties. Qalandars are the current champions and were the runner-up team in 2020.

Who Will Win the Pakistan Super League In 2023?

It will be quite interesting to see which team wins PSL 2023. Meanwhile, looking at the performances from PSL 2022, two teams who played in the finals will be the favourites to win the title for the second time. 

Multan Sultan will have an outside chance to clinch the title in the next PSL season. Multan has covered all its bases and only lost two games in the tournament, which is the least among the teams which participated in PSL 2022 (including the playoffs).
