India has missed out on winning titles like 2015 World Cup, 2016 T20 World Cup, 2017 Champions Trophy, 2019 World Cup and 2021 World Test Championship under Shastri’s guidance. Since then, the demand for the Shastri’s resignation has increased. His tenure is till T20 World Cup 2021.

According to the protocol, after the T20 World Cup, BCCI invites new head coach applications. Some board officials have indicated that Rahul Dravid will be appointed as the new head coach.
