Total Gaming Esports and 8 Others Get Banned From Free Fire City Open 2021
Free Fire publisher, Garena, recently announced its first ever national level tournament titled Free Fire City Open 2021 (FFCO) for the gamers from India. The event will feature registered players from 8 cities like Ahmedabad, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Visakhapatnam.
One of the most popular Free Fire esports teams in India, Total Gaming Esports, along with 8 other teams were disqualified from the tournament on grounds of violating the rules of the tournament. Free Fire India made the announcement on its official facebook page.
The online qualifiers, Free Fire City Open FFC Mode for FFCO were held on April 30th, 2021. However, before announcing the qualified teams, Garena started an in-depth verification of the players of 3,000 shortlisted teams.
The investigation brought to light that two players from the renowned team Total Gaming Esports had participated in the Free Fire City Open FFC Mode multiple times. The two players, Fozy Ajay aka TGFozyBhai and Mafia Bala aka TGBala, participated twice from teams Total Gaming Delhi and team FOMZYvai. Consequently, both the players and the teams were disqualified from the tournament owing to the violations of the Free Fire competitive rule book.

The gaming community was shocked after the news came to light because Total Gaming is one of the best esports teams in India; the team was considered to be a strong contender to win the FFCO title. Total Gaming is owned by India’s biggest Free Fire Content creator, Total Gaming aka Ajju Bhai.
During the verification it was also found that several teams had submitted details of players who are currently serving a ban from participating in esports tournaments. These teams were also disqualified by Garena from the FFCO tournament. Garena’s admin was blocked from verifying the ownership of one of the team leading to failure of verification. The teams that have been disqualified are:
- PVS GAMING (Banned player in the team)
- Pvs Gaming (Banned player in the team)
- NO_MERCY… (Banned player in the team)
- TGB—ARMY (Banned player in the team)
- unstoppable???? (Banned player in the team)
- X-factor (Banned player in the team)
- FOMZYvai (Multiple signups)
- TG-Delhi. (Multiple signups)
- LVL-AMATERASU (Failure to verify account ownership)
The finals of FFCO 2021 will be held on August 15th, 2021, India’s Independence Day. The top 12 teams will battle it out in the finals which offers ₹60,00,000 in prize pool.
