Indian Team Finishes Third At The FIFAe Nations Online Qualifier

On Sunday, India finished third in the Middle East and Africa Zone of the FIFAe Nations Qualifier after closely missing out a place in the FIFAe Nations Cup 2021 finals. The FIFAe Nations Cup 2021 features 24 best eNational teams from around the globe.

The Indian team, eTigers, that had Chandigarh’s 18-year-old Charanjot Singh and Mumbai’s 20-year-old Siddh Chandarana, performed exceptionally well in the first semifinal on Friday. They finished the Friday matches at the top of the table by emerging unbeaten in all the six games played that day. Charanjot’s 1-0 win on his playstation and Siddh’s 3-3 draw on his Xbox helped them gain four points in the first match against Qatar. In the second game against Kuwait, both the matches drew, giving the eTigers two points. eTigers defeated UAE in the third game in both the matches by 3-1 and 4-2 respectively to earn sic points.

On the second day, the eTigers again emerged victorious by defeating the table toppers Saudi Arabia. Charanjot won against the former World Champion Musaed ‘Msdossary’ Al Dossary 4-1, followed by Siddh beating y2harthi 4-1, to proceed to Sunday’s Winner Final.

The Winner Final on Sunday was played against Qatar, who won the match to secure their berth in the FIFAe Nations Cup. In the first game, Siddh aka Jenasidfc on this Xbox lost 3-2 to Aleidx33. However, in the second game, Charanjot aka Charanjot12 on his Playstation defeated AaMeghessib 2-1. The third game was the Best-of-3 decider game where Siddh lost 4-1 to Aleidx33.

The knockouts followed a double-elimination format, so the boys had another chance of securing a place in the finals by clinching the Loser Finals. In the Loser Finals, they had to face Saudi Arabia again in a Best-of-3 format. In the first game, Charanjot was defeated 4-1 by Tundra Msdossary. Siddh lost narrowly against Y2harthi in the second game, making the Indian team lose out on their spot in the finals and finish at the third spot in the qualifiers. eTigers will receive a prize of $1,500 for finishing third.
