03:56: Abhishek Paul is the new DPT Main Event champion

After a few jitters here and there during heads-up against Anand Thakur, Abhishek Paul has shipped the DPT Nov 2022 Main Event for a whopping sum of ₹55,13,434. The runner-up played passively for a good part of the final table, shifted gears and took charge and made it to heads-up. Thakur impressed many with his play and some amazing acting skills which truly deserve an oscar as per the commentators. He takes home a pay cheque of ₹33,73,849.

03:16: Anand takes the chip lead away from Abhishek

This hand changed the deal for Anand Thakur who made good use of his acting skills and take the chip lead away from his rival.

02:56: Dealer read the outcome wrong?

This hand that left onlookers confused. Abhishek Paul took down the pot just because his rival Anand Mohan Singh Thakur showed only one card (Ace) which would have been a chop pot if the latter had revealed his other hole card. The Tournament Director stepped in after a hand was played post this confusion and made sure the matter was resolved.

1:40: Pranav Bagai shows Archit Khandelwal the door

Archit Khandelwal after being card dead for most of the duration, chose to go all-in with pocket tens and Pranav Bagai with pocket queens makes the call. The board did not run in the favour of Khandelwal and is eliminated in the 6th spot for ₹11,14,913.

Abhishek Paul is playing a good game so far and the proof of that is his current chip lead position. Paul snatched the chip lead away from former IOPC Main Event champ Laksh Pal Singh.

Both the players flip their cards to read a board of 3h Qc 8d Ts 2s. With this Paul got his Queen-pair and Wadhawan busted in the 13th spot.

The community cards fell 6h 5d 7c Qc 2d. Both player hit one pair with their seven but Singh scooped the pot with an Ace kicker and sadly for Bansal it was game over.

On Level 23, blinds: 50K – 75K/big blind ante 75K, PSL co-founder Pranav Bagai (3s 3h) opened from the hijack spot and Jhirmiria (8c 7s) went all-in from the big blind position. Bagai matches his rival’s bet with Treys. The community cards fell Qh 6c Qs Ks Ac and with that Bagai scored two pairs and Jhirmiria was out. This 17th place finish was Jhirmiria’s biggest score to date be it live or online. The young chap is also a streamer and is associated with Spartan Poker. Folks from the circuit will surely keep an eye on this Mumbai lad to see what he does next.

18:30: Rubin Labroo doubles up swiftly

On Level 21, blinds 20K – 40K/big blind ante 40K, a player form under the gun opened with 60K, Rajashekar Puttamsetty (Ah ❤ Jc ♣) matches the bet from the middle position and Rubin Labroo (Kd ♦ Kc ♣) raises to 130K from the button. The UTG player folds and Puttamsetty shoves 790K. The former IPC Main Event champ tanks for a bit and then goes all-in for 790K. Showdown saw the board read 9 ♠ J ♣ 3 ♠ 7 ♦ 9 ♦ which gave Labroo and his rival two pairs by but Labroo had a better hand to wins the hand and add more chips to his stack.

In a three-way all-in action, Paawal Bansal, Vipul Tiwari and Ritesh Khatwani locked horns. The result of the hand was such that Bansal took down the main pot, Tiwari was busted and Khatwani scooped the side pot.

Abhishek Sharma is out in the 37th spot place for ₹1,22,262. Sharma only had an open-ended straight (which he hit on the river) and Bansal had the last laugh as he took down the pot with one pair.

16:20: Neel Joshi out in 42nd spot

After busting Kunal Patni a while ago, Neel Joshi (Cowboys) was left with 5K at his disposal when it was an auto all-in for him from the small blind position. Dheeraj Bairineni (Qd ♦ Jh ❤ ) raised to 100K from the button position which made everyone else on the table fold. The hand was down to Bairineni and Joshi. The board revealed 2 ♣ 6 ❤ 9 ♠ J ♦ Q ❤ and Bairineni hit two pairs (QQ, JJ). Sadly for the young gun Joshi, it was game over.

On Level 19, blinds 10K – 20K/big blind ante 20K, from the middle position Shardul Parthasarathi (A ♣ 5 ♣) went for an open shoves with 252K and former DPT High Roller winner Abhishek Goindi (Dimes) calls from the small blind. The board revealed J ♠ A ❤ 6 ♠ 2 ❤ 7 ♣ and Parthasarathi hit an Ace-pair and Goindi lost a good deal of his chips.

15:45: Eliminations spree continus

Players like Saransh Garg, Alok Birewar and Ashish Ahuja have busted from Day 2 of the DPT Nov 2022 Main Event. Garg exited on the 49th spot for ₹1,07,707. Birewar left the tourney at the 47th place and Ahuja left at the 46th position.

On Level 18 with blinds 10K – 15K/big blind ante 15K, Archit Khandelwal (Ax Qx) limped from under the gun and the lawyer turned pro (7x 2x) open shoved with 236K. Khandelwal snapcalled and both the players flipped their respective cards. The board presented 4 ❤ K ♦ A ♦ T ♣ 9 ♦ which gave Khandelwal an Ace-pair and Ahuja the direction to the exit route. 15:30: Siddharth Karia out at 91st place

MPL Poker pro Siddharth Karia has been eliminated at the 91st place from the Main Event.  He walked away with ₹84,419 for his efforts.

15:00: Arsh Grover busted early

Poker pro Arsh Grover, who qualified for Day 2 via flight Day 1A with a stack of 93,000 chips at his disposal, busted early on Day 2 without making in the money. He shared the update on his Instagram stories saying ‘quick Exit in the Main’ (sic.) He further wrote that he lost with AQ suited to AK off-suited. 

14:30: Money bubble bursted

The money bubble has officially bursted and all the remaining 103 players are in the money. Meanwhile, Deepankur Gupta was eliminated after the bubble was bursted. He cashed the min-cash of ₹78,597 for his efforts.

14: 15: Nikita Luther and Kamal Punjabi chop the bubble

Since there were two hands running simultaneously at the bubble, WSOP bracelet winner Nikita Luther and Kamal Punjabi busted in the two hands and chopped the money bubble.

Spartan Poker pro Luther was auto all-in from the big blind with her remaining 9K chips. Rubin Labroo raised to 16K from the button and the action folded on the table. Luther held T ♦ 5 ♦ , while Labroo had J ♦ and 9 ♣. The board fanned out to 8 ♣ 2 ❤ 2 ♠ 8 ♦ J ♣, and Labroo took down the pot with his two pairs.

On the other table, Kamal Panjabi opened to 17K from the hijack to be raised to 51K from the cutoff. Abhishek Paul called, and the action was back to Punjabi, who re-raised to 155K.  The player in the cut-off folded, while Paul shoved all-in with 426K. After tanking for a while, Punjabi called with his short stack. Paul had pocket kings, while Punjabi held the big slick. The board showed 6 ♦ Q ♣ 4 ♣ 9 ♠ 2 ♣. Punjabi’s hand did not improve and he was eliminated.

The scenes at the casino as the bubble approached were crazy. Amit Kaushik shared a picture on his Instagram stories showing the chaos.

Poker pro Sameer Agarwal has busted on Day 2 at the 105th spot. He marginally missed the money as the top 103 places will be paid at the event. He started the day with an above-average stack of 183,000, however, succumbed early on Day 2 after running deep in Day 1A flight. GG, Sameer!

12:45: Siddharth Kadel Busted

Day 1B chip leader Siddharth Kadel found an early exit on Day 2. Gaurav Goru opened to 12K from the UTG. Kadel raised it to 36K from the hijack. The action folded back to Goru, who pushed his 145K all-in. Kadel who has just 125K remaining in his kitty, tanked and made the call. Goru showed 9 ♠ 9 ♦ , while Kadel flipped the big slick. The board of 8 ♣ T ♣ K ❤ 9 ❤ T ❤ , gave Goru a full house to take down the pot and eliminate Kadel.

Heading into Day 2 of the DPT Nov 2022 Main Event

Day 2 of the Main Event (ME) at the Deltin Poker Tournament (DPT) Nov 2022 will see survivors from the three starting flights lock horns for the ultimate title of the series—DPT Main Event champion. The two ME starting flights namely Day 1A and Day 1B (Turbo) saw 50 and 34 survivors qualifying for Day 2. Day 1C which was the final flight, sent 45 survivors into Day 2. A total of 129 survivors across the three flights will battle it out for the ultimate Main Event title. Day 1C chip leader Manish Lakhotia is leading the end of Day 1 survivors too, with a massive 445K chips at his disposal.

Flight Day 1C leading to the Main Event has concluded after recording a total of 265 entries. Manish Lakhotia with a stack of 445K chips, is leading the pack of 45 survivors who have secured a spot in Day 2. Deltin Poker Tournament (DPT) November 2022 has been going on in full steam at the Deltin Royale casino in Goa. The DPT November 2022 schedule features six tournaments running between 8th to 14th November 2022. With buy-ins ranging between ₹15,000 going up to ₹1,10,000. One can play in different formats, including No-limit Hold’em (NLH), Pot Limit Omaha (PLO) and Bounty.

The flights leading to the 45K Main Event will begin today. The first flight, Day 1A will start at 12 PM, followed by Day 1B at 7 PM today. The third and final flight will take place on 13th November at 12 PM. For a buy-in of ₹45,000, every player will get a starting stack of 30,000. The players can enter/re-enter till the end of Level 10, and four levels later after the end of Level 14 the flight will come too an end. All those who survive till the end of Level 14 will progress to the Day of the Main Event. The event will feature blinds starting from 100/200. The big blind ante will kick in at Level 2. From the buy-in amount, ₹41,000 will go into the tournament prize pool, while ₹4,000 will be the tournament fee. The players get two 15-minute breaks and one 5-minute break on all Day 1 flight. Day 2 will have eight 15-minute breaks.
