Mississippi Grind

This one has actor Ben Mendelsohn playing Gerry, a gambling addict who truly believes that his friend (the very charming Ryan Reynolds) is his lucky charm and should be by his side when he hits the casino next. The Green Lantern actor, Ryan Reynolds impeccably plays Curtis who then undertakes a twisted road trip to New Orleans for a high-stakes poker game which neither of the lead characters know how it will end. Fans of the Deadpool actor should watch this movie.

Bet Raise Fold

This Ryan Firpo directorial is a documentary that tracked the rise of the online poker industry in the 2000s. The multi-billion dollar online poker industry became the plot of Firpo’s directorial which sees how the professional online poker players went about their poker games and the big bucks they earned along the way. Danielle Andersen, Tony Dunst and Martin Bradstreet feature in this documentary movie and if you are ready to take a trip down memory lane then Bet Raise Fold should be your pick.

This is an American heist drama that was released in the year 2008. This Kevin Spacey starrer sees him play the role of Micky Rosa. The story is pretty straight forward. Rosa has a gang that he trains (or mentors) to nail the Blackjack game. Yes, there is a lot of card counting involved. Rosa, a math professor, does something unusual. He trains a group of students who he believes are brilliant at math and hence are best when it comes to card counting. The logic may seem a bit off but the execution was good. Actor Jim Sturgess plays the smart yet vulnerable Ben Campbell. How the lead character outsmarts the villains and Rosa is a reason you must see this movie.

Cold Deck

If thrillers are your thing then Cold Deck is something you will surely like. This movie is a 2015 drama with enough chills and thrills. Cold Deck is a Zack Bernbaum directorial with Stéfano Gallo as the writer and actor. A compulsive gambler (Gallo) who is only witnessing a losing streak and is nowhere close to making money accepts an offer made by a rich banker to rob a high-stakes game of poker. It is easy to think about all the possible outcomes of a plot like this but we suggest you go watch the movie first.
