David Haye Joins Team Grosvenor Poker

Former Unified World Cruiserweight and WBA World Heavyweight Boxing Champion, David Haye will support Grosvenor’s efforts to recover from the post-COVID-19 depression. The casino and Mr. Haye first inked a partnership back in 2018 when he took up the challenge of learning poker and participated at the 2019 Goliath event. Haye has earned the respect of many pokers after entering a contested field of 9,300 entries, and coming out in 40th place in the event. The former is ready for his next challenge as he partners with Grosvenor Poker Team.

David Haye uploaded a tweet commemorating his new signing as a sponsor player for Grosvenor Poker Team. His poker journey will see him competing against amateur and professional poker players on the live and online circuit. As part of the deal, Grosvenor Poker will host a series of online Multi-Table Tournaments(MTTs), Known as Hayemaker Bounties. The tournaments will give players a chance to win cash prizes for knocking out the ex-world champion. Once live poker returns to the United Kingdom, however, Haye will head out for the Grosvenors UK Poker Tournament (GUKPT) to face off with other worthwhile contenders.

Speaking about how it feels to sign up as a sponsored poker player, David Haye said: “Taking on Goliath last year was the culmination of a steep 12 month learning curve! When I first took on the challenge, I had no idea of the scale of the game, the skill and strategy involved. In pursuit of success I travelled the world and played with the world’s best and soon fell in love with the game. I went to Goliath to win and whilst fell short finishing 40th of 9,300″. He added “I’m proud to continue to work with Grosvenor, now sitting shoulder to shoulder with my former mentors as a sponsored player. I’m excited to continue to grow and test my ability on the circuit”.

With casinos being shut since the outbreak of coronavirus, Grosvenor Casino has strategically planned to bounce back by attracting poker players by signing the great David Haye. They are excited to see Haye’s skills and strategy that he has harnessed since the live poker competition at Grosvenor Casinos’ Goliath 2019.
