Chadha, Choudhry, Purohit win on SSS Day 4


Every day is an exciting one on Spartan Poker, where the Spartan Super Series (SSS) is currently underway and huge cash prizes are being given away as we speak. Last night, the fourth day of this edition of SSS was hosted, with hundreds of players walking away with cash prizes. Among these winners were Vinay ChoudhryAnant Purohit and Arjanveer Chadha, with the latter winning not one but two titles! Keep reading for a complete summary of SSS Day 4…

SSS Event #17 INR 2 Lakh GTD

With a buy-in of INR 550, this tournament saw a total of 191 unique players registering and the guarantee being passed. Eventually, the prize pool was shared among the top 31 players with the min-cash being INR 1,905. ‘JuntaDel’ took down the title and the top prize of INR 45,789 after he outlasted ‘maximgorky’ in heads-up. JuntaDel had a massive chip lead and in the final hand, his K2 combined with two more deuces on the board to win the tournament with Three of a Kind. maximgorky bagged INR 30,829 as runner-up cash prize.

SSS Event #18 INR 3.25 Lakh GTD

With a buy-in of INR 990, the second tournament of the day saw a more popular face winning the title in Vinay Choudhry aka ‘Your Truly’. The player has won quite a few SSS titles in the past and he added another one to his collection, bagging the top prize of INR 75,562 in heads-up. He outlasted the field of 130 unique players, with the top 23 places being paid a min-cash of 3,770. In heads-up, he beat another popular player (who wished to stay anonymous here), ‘bullet_king’. This player won INR 51,187 for finishing second. When we contacted Choudhry, he said, “It was great fun to play alongside my two best friends Anant and ‘bullet_king’ on a Final Table for the first time in 3 years. It’s nice to get the bragging rights. Looking forward to the MOP Vegas series that starts today.”

SSS Event #19 INR 2.50 Lakh GTD

As the evening started setting in, it was time for Arjanveer Singh Chadha to show his dominance. This man has won so many titles on Spartan Poker that we have now lost count. Yesterday, he added another couple of titles to his name, with this INR 770 buy-in one being the first of the day. 124 unique players joined the tournament and Chadha beat them all, playing under the screen name ‘bazzingaa’. The top 23 places were paid out a min-cash of INR 2,900 but Chadha took away all glory, along with a cash prize of INR 58,125. In heads-up, he beat ‘sriracha’ who won INR 39,375 for finishing second.

SSS Event #20 Warm-Up INR 10 Lakh GTD

This tournament was the biggest one of the day, with each player having to pay the buy-in of INR 5,500 to participate. It turned out to be a good Saturday night for Arjanveer Chadha as he took down this tournament as well, claiming the top prize of INR 2,51,600. The field saw a total of 161 entries and the top 17 players were paid out a minimum of INR 15,700 each. Eventually, heads-up began between Chadha and another talented online grinder, Bhanu Prakash aka ‘spectre’. The latter had to be content with the runner-up cash prize of INR 1.7 Lakh after Chadha’s pocket Kings converted to Kings and Sixes in the final hand of the tournament.

SSS #21 Hi-Fi INR 3.5 Lakh GTD

INR 2,200 was the buy-in for the final tournament of the night and the guarantee was passed as exactly 100 entries joined the tournament. The new prize pool of INR 4.4 Lakh was distributed among the top 20 places with a minimum cash of INR 5,896. Anant Purohit aka ‘Pro’ is one player who is always among cashes in Spartan tournaments and once again, he emerged victorious to claim the top prize of INR 1,05,600 after he beat ‘Veer’ in heads-up, who settled for INR 71,720 as the runner-up prize. Aces and Nines beat Nines and Twos in the final hand of the night. When contacted by Gutshot, Purohit said, “HiFi is among my daily favourite and I was lucky to have a soft Final Table except 2 crushers. Feeling good to win it and hoping to make more deep runs and take down the leaderboard.”
