Casinos In Goa To Run Full Capacity?
On Wednesday, 3rd March 2022, Goa Chief Minister (CM) Pramod Sawant reportedly said he will take a decision on the recommendations given by the expert committee on allowing all economic activities in the state. As per news reports, the dipping COVID-19 positivity rate would allow casinos, and movie halls to function at full capacity. The state government’s expert committee for COVID-19 management has recommended 100% functional capacity for all economic activities.
As per a news report by ANI, Goa CM said, “In view of less positivity rate #COVID19 cases, the expert committee has advised resuming economic activities with 100% capacity. The govt will take the decision by tomorrow & will resume the activities including casinos.”

The state government’s health department released the official numbers for COVID-19 cases. As per this report, Goa recorded only 16 new COVID-19 cases and three casualties. along with a positivity rate of 1.3%. Sawant also mentioned that Goa’s COVID-19 cases stood at 2,45,056 cases in all while the toll stood at 3,825.

While the state plans to open the economic avenues, restrictions for travellers are still in place. All travellers need to show a negative COVID-19 test report. This report should be issued not more than 48 hours before travelling to the state. If you fail to produce a negative COVID-19 report, they will have to undergo a mandatory test which will cost them ₹2,000.
