Bhanu Prakash wins Spartan’s Cool Leaderboard Challenge

We’ve entered the month of August, which means new starts and new goals. For poker players on The Spartan Poker, it means another chance to start the month well and top the new Hot Tournament Leaderboard and its lite version – The Cool Leaderboard Challenge.

With all of July’s tournaments coming to an end, it was Anurag Srivastava aka ‘InvestmentBanker’ who topped the Hot Tournament Leaderboard, taking home a prize of INR 5 lakh. The Cool Leaderboard Challenge also came to an end yesterday and Bhanu Prakash aka ‘spectre’ won this challenge. Unlike the hot leaderboard, there wasn’t much of competition here. Prakash crushed it!

The Cool Leaderboard basically includes the mini-versions of Spartan’s daily featured tournaments. At the end of the month, Prakash gathered 2,011 leaderboard points in the 19 lite tournaments he played, winning by a long way and taking home a prize of INR 1,70,000 for the leaderboard winner.

Prakash was one of the players that finished on the recent IOPC Leaderboard as well, which shows that he’s had a brilliant month of poker in July. Remember, he’s not new to big online poker wins, having shipped an IOPC title a couple of weeks back and also having won the SSS Main Event + Leaderboard in September last year.

Gutshot spoke to Prakash after this leaderboard win and asked him about the journey. He said, “I got an early big lead with wins from Elite lite and Daredevil lite. After that, there was a gap of 10 days where the leaderboard didn’t take place due to the IOPC series. So, I was pretty sure of winning it comfortably. I’m now looking forward to the Hot and Cool leaderboards of August.”
