APT Vietnam: Munsaf, Mudgal in Bounty Final 14

The Asian Poker Tour (APT) is back in action, with some exciting tournaments lined up over the course of their latest 12-day series. They decided to start off their year and season with APT Kickoff Vietnam 2019 at the Pro Poker Club in 2019, and hundreds of Asian pros have already made their way down to the casino.

The series has been scheduled between 9-20 January 2019 and in two days of play, we’ve already had some intense poker action taking place, with plenty of Indian players also in the field. The first tournament to wrap up in the APT Kickoff was Monster Stack 1 and we had three Indians in Meherzad Munsaf, Vishal Tajpuria and Shravan Chhabria finishing in the money.

One of the tournaments to kick off on Day 2 of the series was Event #3: Dafabet Head Hunter VND 2,000,000 Bounty and this tournament also saw a strong Indian participation. Meherzad Munsaf is one of the veterans of the Indian poker industry and after his cash in Event #1, he has found himself in contention on Day 2 as well.

The Bounty Event was the first APT tournament sponsored by Asian bookmaker Dafabet and 60-odd entries registered to the tournament, with two Indians bagging up their chips after Day 1. Munsaf was one of the Indians to progress, while recent WPT Vietnam ME winner Dhaval Mudgal also progressed to Day 2, with only 14 runners left.

Mudgal has fond memories at the Pro Poker Club, having recently won his career best live cash of INR 73.58 Lakh for winning the WPT Vietnam Main Event. Now, he has given himself the chance of winning yet another title in the region. With plenty of other tournaments lined up in the series, Munsaf and Mudgal have made a good start to their APT Kickoff Vietnam campaigns. They resume today at 1pm local time.

In Monster Stack 1, the three Indians to cash were Meherzad (29th – ~INR 40,600), Shravan Chhabria (17th – ~INR 70,100) and Vishal Tajpuria (15th – ~INR 70,100). For more updates on this APT series in Ho Chi Minh, keep reading GutshotMagazine.com.
