APT Vietnam: Labroo, Gupta, Munot make Monster Stack Day 2

The 2019 Asian Poker Tour (APT) Vietnam is back at Pro Poker Club in Ho Chi Minh running between 6th-17th November. The star attraction of any APT series is the Main Event and the Championships Event coming with a guarantee of VND 8 billion and VND 6 billion respectively. However, the we’ve begun with Opening Event yesterday, marking a busy day with plenty of hopefuls entering the VND 11,000,000 Monster Stack 1 event.

The event saw 116 players, each chipping in a buy-in of VND 11,000,000, creating a prize pool of VND 1.12 billion. The evening was busy with cards and chips in the air and a few hours into the competition, 30 players bagged and progressed to the final day. Topping the field and claiming the chip lead was China’s Xiaoyin He with 266,000 chips closely followed by Nguyen Chi Thinh bagging 247,000 chips.

The winner of APT Korea Short Deck High Roller in August 2019, He bagged KRW 11.6 million, also recorded for having finished 1st in the previous year’s Jeju Red Dragon Deepstack, earning his career-best live cash of $21k. The field was jammed with players joining from India, Korea, Japan and so on.

Pro Poker Club never fails to attract Indian poker players. These enthusiasts keep swinging from one destination to another maintaining their good records. Recently, several major poker series came to an end in the country, and now some of the known Indians flying to the Monster Stack event were Ashish MunotRubin Labroo, and Sajal Gupta advancing to Day 2, while Madhav Gupta was unfortunate and busted on Day 1.

With only 30 progressing to the next day, 20 will surely secure a payout. Those players reaching the money will earn points to the APT Player of the Series race as well. Besides, the 6-day long Main Event (7-12 November) will be a magnet for the players with starting 3 flights followed by Day 2 and Day 3 until the final table crowns its ultimate winner.
