APT Philippines 2022: Kunal Patni Busts From Championship Event 


The final table of the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Philippines 2022 Championships event is currently underway at the Grand Wing Casino – Newport World Resorts in Manila. Adda52 Game Ambassador Kunal Patni made it to the FT and ended his run in sixth place after an incredible play. 

The Indian poker pro made it to the final table with the shortest stack of 435,000 chips. However, despite being at a chip deficit, Patni played it strong and finally finished in sixth place. The banker turned poker pro walked away with PhP 824,400 (~$14,461)

The Bust Out Hand

In his final moments in the game, Patni raised from the button, and Malaysian player Willian Teoh defended his big blind. The flop opened to cards K♥ 7♠ 2♥, after which Teoh checked and Patni moved all-in. Teoh then called Patni’s shove. Both players’ cards go face up, and Patni has K♣ Q♥, which gave him a top pair while Teoh’s 5♥ 3♥ gave him a flush draw. The turn card is 8♥ completed Teoh’s flush but also gave Patni a redraw for a Queen-High flush. Unfortunately, the river 2♦ busted out Patni at 6th place. 

With this, Patni is officially out of the APT Championship race. He took to his Instagram stories to announce his elimination. He caption read, “Got pretty unlucky to bust in 6th place!! Thanks for the rail and support everyone!!” (sic). Patni came pretty close to clinching another live poker title, and will be

WSOP bracelet winner Abhinav Iyer and Indian pro Laksh Pal Singh made it to Day 3 along with Patni. However, they did not make it to the FT, with Iyer busting out in 20th place. The Championship final table now had only three players left and the winner will soon be crowned. So, stay tuned for more updates!
