Anurag Srivastava wins Spartan Mega Stack

The Spartan Poker’s feature tournament for yesterday, the INR 12 Lakhs GTD Mega Stack saw another successful end on the platform. Spartan’s established and reputed brand in the Indian online poker industry makes it possible for them to host plenty of high-stakes tournaments and series.

Last night, being Christmas, saw plenty of players across India playing in online rooms and among them, Spartan’s Mega Stack last night drew a total of 400 entries (146 re-entries, 50 re-buys). The top 31 positions were paid yesterday for a minimum cash of INR 10,560.  For a buy-in of INR 3,300, the field collectively created the exact guarantee of INR 12 Lakhs. The tournament began at 7:30 pm on Spartan and ended at 1:57 am today morning.

The winner to emerge from the long haul of 6 and a half hours was the well-known online grinder Anurag Srivastava aka ‘InvestmentBanker’. Srivastava took home the lion’s share of INR 1,91,079 out of a 3-way deal that happened between him and two other regular runners-up, Shardul Parthasarathi aka ‘duuurrrrr’ (2^nd – INR 1,87,301) and Anirban Das aka ‘pokernoob’ (3^rd – INR 1,66,780).

Srivastava has played a lot of tournaments online and cashed out in the money too. He also has shipped a respectable amount of titles and has been grinding since long. That is shown by him topping the Hot Leaderboard on Spartan some time ago.

Along with playing online, he also plays live. His recorded live cash outs include the 2018 WPT India SuperStack (26^th) and the 2018 WPT India Big Bounty (29^th). With this sizeable cash prize earned on Christmas night, the player is looking at a spectacular ending to his year and will be looking forward to 2019, and 2019 is going to be an action-packed year for poker players in this country.

Gutshot got in touch with Srivastava and he reacted saying, “I feel happy that I won this tournament yesterday. It always feels good to win something on Christmas!” 

Some known names also ranked in the money last night. Among them were the recent 2^nd place winner of Spartan’s TLB Bhanu Prakash aka ‘spectre’ (6^th – INR 58,680), one of the Indians to win a PSPC Platinum Pass to Bahamas Sumit Sapra aka ‘mrgr33n’ (24^th – INR 11,760) and Pranav Bang aka ‘CalvinKlein’ (30^th – INR 11,760).
