E-commerce giant Amazon India has announced its first ever esports tournament in India. The tournament will feature a prize pool of massive ₹3 Lakh along with exciting products from Amazon. The maiden tournament kick-starts on July 14th, 2021.
The tournament will be Amazon India’s inaugural esports tournament and will be known as ‘Amazon Prime Day Valorant Championship.’ As the name suggests the tournament will feature the popular game Valorant, developed by Riot Games. The esports tournament will take place from July 14th to July 27th, 2021.
Amazon Prime Day Valorant Championship will be organized by The Esports Club (TEC), which is one of the biggest esports tournament organizers in the country. In the past, TEC had successfully organized several Valorant tournaments. TEC announced its collaboration with Amazon while inviting registrations on social media.

This tournament will witness 128 teams battling it out for a prize pool of ₹3 Lakh. It will follow a single elimination format. The prize will be distributed as follows:
Additionally, the players who win the Most Valuable Player (MVP) and ‘Play of the Tournament’ award will also receive exciting products from Amazon.

Valorant has gained immense popularity among players within a short span of time. And it was no surprise that Amazon chose the game for its first ever esports tournament. Amazon had hosted such tournaments in the past, but not in India.
