Abhishek Rathod Chops A 4 Way Deal In ESPT Cup Event


Trophies are coming home! We reported how Adda52 Game Ambassador Kunal Patni shipped the $300 Deepstack No-Limit Hold’em event at the World Poker Tour (WPT) Cambodia 2022. And now it is Abhishek Rathod who won the  Estrellas Poker Tour (ESPT) Cup. The €550 buy-in tournament ended in a four-way deal with Rathod winning the trophy and 103K. With the shortest stack among the four, Rathod grabbed the trophy with his final hole cards J 4

The ESPT €550 buy-in tournament had a total prize pool of €1.588 million and 3,310 entries. The event unfolded in the last four players striking a deal and playing for the trophy. The EPT 2022 Barcelona schedule had the ESPT Cup event scheduled to run from 12th to 14th August.

The €1,100 ESPT Main Event (ME) was shipped by a cash game specialist named Rick van Bruggen. The winner is from the Netherlands and took a pay cheque of €600,000. Interestingly, Bruggen was second highest in chips at the start of Day 4 behind Jack Sinclair. The chip lead at the start of the day ended up being the runner-up for €377,120.

As per Hendon Mob, this poker player has total live earnings worth $170,915 and ranks 53,702nd in the All Time Money list and 177th in India’s All Time Money list. As far as Rathod’s online winnings are concerned, he has ₹2,32,25,735 in total lifetime online earnings. Rathod ranks 453rd (as of August 2022) in online rankings (India). 

Indian Players at EPT Barcelona 2022

Apart from Abhishek Rathod, Indian players like Nikita Luther, Sumit Asrani, Bharath Janardhan, Rishabh Vekaria were also grinding in the EPT 2022 Barcelona events. The ESPT ME Day 2 saw the departure of Asrani, Janardhan and Vekaria. On the other hand, Spartan Poker Pro had progressed onto Day 3 and finished at the 16th position for a payday of €27,930.
