While the online poker felts were set ablaze by poker players, Gutshot players also joined the action on Sunday night. To celebrate Gutshot’s 10th birthday, we hosted an exclusive 10K Freeroll on Spartan Poker. The exclusive freeroll was held on 9 May at 7 PM. Many new and existing players participated in the fun which ultimately had a winner.
Shipping this exciting freeroll was player Abdul Rasheed Urakkodan aka ‘rasheedok6’ who beat player Rishabh Vijan aka ‘Rishabh90.’ At level 31, Urakkodan had hole cards 7♥ 6♦ while Vijan had hole cards A♥ T♦ and had a higher probability of getting the better hand. Both went all-in on pre-flop and the board opened up as, [9♥ K♠ J♣] [J♦] [6♥]. Despite having the better starting hand, Vijan lost to Urakkodan who won with two pairs (JJ,66).
This led to Urakkodan taking home the top prize money which was ₹2,800 while Vijan took home ₹1,700 in runner-up position. “I am happy about winning the Gutshot freeroll tournament. I had an amazing experience and played a great game. I want to thank Gutshot for arranging this exclusive freeroll for its players and I hope to see more tournaments like this in the future,” said Urakkodan while talking about his win.
Runner-up Rishabh Vijan was also happy to share his experience. He said, “Congratulations to Gutshot on their 10th anniversary. I first learnt about poker from Gutshot magazine and have been hooked on it since then. Gutshot comes up with great articles and information about poker. It’s always fun playing the exclusive tournaments hosted by Gutshot and I look forward to playing and winning more.”
Given that it was a free to enter tournament for all Gutshot players, many players were eager to participate in it. Out of the 95 participants, the top 20 made the money with a min-cash of ₹130.
