Indians have always been part of gambling, but since the 21st century, more people have been making cash bets on prohibited gambling and betting in India. Critics of gambling claim that it leads to corruption, money laundering and crime, while proponents of regulated gambling argue that it can be a huge source of revenue for the state. On Saturday, 23 people were taken into custody on gambling and related charges in Talasari.

Talasari is located in the Palghar district, the city is around 83 miles north of the major city Mumbai, India’s Green Park Resort led to the arrest of 23 persons in a raid conducted by the local police. During the raid, the officers caught the accused involved in gambling and drinking. They seized INR 73,000 in cash and liquor at the resort.
