2020 World Series of Poker schedule announced!

Its time to mark your calendars with the biggest ever series of next year. The longest-running and the highly prestigious festival up and around the world is once again opening doors with the greatest guarantees of all the time! The 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) returns at the Rio All-Suite Hotel in Las Vegas.

It all started in 1970 and since then WSOP has been the greatest fever and ultimate destination for the entire poker community, setting phenomenal records. The previous year itself saw a record-breaking number, featuring 187,000 entries from 118 different nationalities and $293 million in prize money. And this time will be running its 51st year from May 26 to 15 July.

The WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart said in a press release, “We can’t wait to open our doors for the 2020 World Series of Poker. Summer can’t come fast enough, and we look forward to welcoming poker players from all over the globe back to the Rio in Las Vegas to award gold bracelets and hundreds of millions of dollars.”

The first bracelet tournament will commence on 27 May with the opening week’s signature event being $500 BIG 50 No-Limit Hold’em to run until 31 May. This year it drew 28,371 entries which was taken down by Florida’s Femi Fashakin for $1.14 million.

Its never too early to plan for 2020 WSOP which will not be releasing its schedule until after the New Year. One of the highly awaited tournaments, the $10,000 WSOP Main Event Championship will run its three starting flights on July 1 till July 3. Players competing on July 1 and July 2, will return to battle on July 4 to play Day 2. Those players beginning on July 3 will return for their Day 2 on July 5. All survivors from these flights will resume on July 6 for Day 3 and continue through July 10, which is expected would reach the final table. The Main Event will telecast on ESPN/ESPN2 on July 12-14.

Earlier this year, Germany’s Hossein Ensan was crowned the ultimate 2019 WSOP Main Event champion bagging prestige, glory at the 50th anniversary edition of the series. Ensan broke into the top 10 all-time list of German poker players after he boosted his total live earnings to $12.5 million claiming his career-best score of $10 million and the jaw-dropping WSOP gold bracelet.

The WSOP confirmed the third and the final event being $1,000 Seniors NLHE Championships, coming with a single re-entry tournament on 18 June for players up to 50 years and above. The final table will be scheduled to take place on 21 June.

However, dates for popular events such as Casino Employees, Millionaire Maker, Ladies Event, Heads-up Championship, and The Poker Players Championship are yet to be announced, but a full schedule is likely to be released in early 2020. For latest updates on live and online poker tournaments keep reading GutshotMagazine.com and stay tuned!
