Aditya Sushant Wins Main Event at Baadshah Gaming Live
Last week, Gutshot wrote about the Baadshah Gaming Live poker tournament that was held in the Casino Pride in Goa, between 7th and 10th December 2017. We also caught up with the man behind the live tournament, Madhav Gupta, and asked him a few questions about the same, which you can read about here.
The series received a major blow with Goa’s coast getting cyclone warnings at the time, which considerably reduced the expected turnouts. However, those who turned up seem to have enjoyed the series, and have given positive feedback on the overall tournament hosted by Baadshah Gaming.
The 30k Main Event of the tournament series saw 66 entrants and it was Indian WSOP bracelet winner Aditya Sushant who ended up victorious. Sushant came into the final day with the chip lead and he capitalized on that lead, finishing as the winner. He defeated Anup Palod in heads up, bagging the first place prize of INR 7,65,000.
Palod, who heads operations for the Indian Poker Pros + Euphoria poker stable combine, cut a deal with Sushant during heads up and walked away with a respectable runner up purse of INR 6,75,000. The battle between the two didn't last long at all.
In the final hand, Sushant opened the betting, Palod called, and the flop opened 5-7-A. The betting continued as the turn opened Q and the river opened 5. Palod went all in with K-8, while his opponent happily called, holding Q-7 in his hand (2 pairs). With this, Sushant added yet another tournament win and title to his name.
Final Table Top 5 Payouts:
- Aditya Sushant – INR 7,65,000
- Anup Palod – INR 6,75,000
- Ronak Agarwal – INR 3,60,000
- Meherzad Munsaf – INR 3,00,000
- Natansh Basandra – INR 2,40,000
